Connection is its own kind of genius. The bridge is the span thrown between two disciplines held in one head at once — and it is a first-class skill, not the consolation prize handed to those who failed to specialise. The rare and valuable thing was never one field mastered to the bone; it is two fields carried together, and the structure that only becomes visible when you stand with a foot on each shore.

This is what living in the seams is finally for. The seam tells you where the interesting problem hides; the bridge is the genius of crossing it — seeing the load-bearing insight that neither field, alone, could ever have seen. Depth supplies the shores worth joining, but the span is its own act of invention. Synthesis is not what you do when you cannot go deep; it is a thing you go deep into.
