Hugging Face states explicitly that no human directed the individual steps of the campaign. Forensics recovered approximately 17,600 attacker actions clustered into about 6,280 groups. Several layers of the security stack registered the activity — live runtime analysis and SIEM logs — but failed to raise the alert's criticality correctly.

Why it matters

The detection failure is the transferable lesson. The signal was present and the prioritisation was wrong, which is the normal outcome when an attacker generates volume a human operator never would. Alert thresholds tuned for human tempo under-rank agent tempo.
