Annex XII requires at minimum: the tasks the model is intended to perform and the AI systems it can be integrated into; applicable acceptable use policies; date of release and methods of distribution; how the model interacts with hardware or software outside itself; versions of relevant software; the architecture and number of parameters; the modality and format of inputs and outputs; the model licence; the technical means required for integration; the modality, format and maximum size of inputs and outputs including context window length; and information on data used for training, testing and validation including type, provenance and curation methodologies.

Why it matters

It converts directly into a checklist that can be diffed against the model card a provider actually supplied. Most published model cards do not cover data provenance or curation methodology.
