Annex XI Section 1 point 2 requires, among the technical documentation for a general-purpose AI model, the computational resources used to train the model, expressed for example as a number of floating point operations, together with training time and other relevant details of training.

Why it matters

Training compute is an Annex XI item, and Annex XI is exactly what Article 53(2) lifts for open-source providers. The exemption removes the number a downstream team needs to know which side of the line it is on.
