Since 2 August 2026 the Commission and the AI Office may exercise GPAI enforcement powers under Articles 91 to 93 - requesting information, evaluating models and requiring measures - with fines up to EUR 15 million or 3% of total worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher.
Why it matters
The obligations were paper for a year; the enforcement powers are four weeks old.
