Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery has been in force since 19 July 2023 and applies in general from 20 January 2027, replacing Directive 2006/42/EC.
Why it matters
It is eighteen months before the AI Act's Annex I date of 2 August 2028, which is the date most practitioners have diarised.
