AI Act Article 50(4) obliges deployers to disclose deep fakes, and obliges disclosure of AI-generated text only where that text is published with the purpose of informing the public on matters of public interest.

Why it matters

The deployer text duty is confined to public-interest publication, so agent-written code and packages carry no marking duty at all. Self-marking is a choice.
