Point 2 of Annex III to the AI Act covers AI systems intended to be used as safety components in the management and operation of critical digital infrastructure, road traffic, or in the supply of water, gas, heating or electricity.

Why it matters

The words that decide it are 'safety components' and 'critical digital infrastructure'. An incident agent on an ordinary SaaS backend is neither, so the chapter most people reach for does not reach them.
